The Porth Masterclass Series brings the best directors, choreographers, and dancers from across the country to Glass House Dance. Giving your dancer the opportunity to train with some of the most influential professionals in the dance industry. It is through Porth's commitment to our community and their generous sponsorship of these events, that we can offer these master classes for FREE!

 

The master class dates, times, and instructors are below, you can register for each class through your Parent Portal or on our App.

Phi Nguyen

Nico Banuelos

Nico is a dancer/choreographer from Gilbert, Arizona. Co-founder and member of “Elektrolytes” Dance Crew, winners of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew season Seven. He has taught and performed in several places around the world, including: London, Africa, Switzerland, and all over the United States. Nico has appeared and performed on national television shows multiple times, such as: America’s Got Talent, Disney Channel’s “Shake it Up”, and The Grammy’s with the famed pop group, “LMFAO” and season 3 and 8 ABDC Champions Quest Crew. He has also performed with Neyo. He has worked with Phillip Chbeeb, Napoleon and Tabitha, and Rosero McCoy.  He has represented the United States in the Hip Hop International Competition 5 times, and was awarded the Gold Medal in the U.S. competition, and named fourth in the world with his crew. Many of his current dancers are on NBC World Of Dance 2018.

Nico is excited to share his talent and knowledge with people around the world, and hopes to keep inspiring others to follow and live out their dreams.

Amanda Casas, born in Riverside, California, grew up a competitive dancer at the age of six. She has won numerous titles including representing the United States in Australia winning the international title of ‘Dancer of The World’ in 2006. She toured the world dancing on a cruise ship, was a background dancer for ‘Foreigner’, and performed with contemporary company “Atlantis Dance Theatre”. Amanda was captain of the award winning California State University, Long Beach Dance Team where they won National Champions in 2009. Amanda graduated college from CSULB with a BA in Dance, and is Pilates Certified (BASI). Amanda danced two seasons in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers. She then continued to represent the NFL as an All-Star Cheerleader and was an ambassador at the international games in London. She currently teaches conventions and master classes throughout the nation with Kids Artistic Revue, is a nationally recognized choreographer, and judges/teaches internationally in countries like Mexico, Japan, and Australia!

Jeffrey “Phi” Nguyen, Entrepreneur, Business Owner, Professional Hip-Hop Dancer, Choreographer, and Instructor began his start in the dance industry in 1997. He took the stage break dancing with Furious Styles Crew from Phoenix, AZ. His drive brought him to Los Angeles where he made the move in 2001, signing with major talent agencies Kazarian Spencer & Associates (KSA) as well as McDonald Selznick Associates (MSA.) Shortly after signing, Phi appeared on the Billboard Music Awards, Tribute to Run DMC as well as music videos for DJ Khaled, Tyga, and Leona Lewis. His love for dance led him to the path of teaching. Phi has taught at The Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angles, Debbie Reynolds Dance, Alvin Ailey, Millennium, and Broadway Dance Center in New York. He also taught for many popular dance conventions including Monsters of Hip Hop, Urban Jamm, Westcoast Dance Explosion, and has caught international attention bringing him to teach as far as Guam, Portugal, Philippines, Malaysia, and Germany. In 2004, Phi became a member of the world-famous dance crew, Jabbawockeez. After the crew became Season 1 Champions of “America’s Best Dance Crew” in 2008, a new movement started for Phi. Jabbawockeez has gone on to do campaigns for Gatorade, headlined New Kids on the Block summer tour and the NBA All-Star Game with Shaquille O’Neil. They have also appeared on Jimmy Fallon, The Ellen Show, George Lopez, and performed at Coachella with Pharell Williams, BET Awards with Neyo, MTV Movie Awards, and Red Bull BC 1 in Rio Brazil. You will also find the Jabbawockeez in the feature film “Step Up 2.” In addition, they were the opening act for Bruno Mars on his 24K Magic Tour and performed at the 2017 NBA Finals halftime. They have truly made a name for themselves with their own headlining show in Las Vegas. Their long-term contract under MGM Grand Resorts in Las Vegas provides an opportunity for many to experience this amazing crew’s great talent.
